Jill Balgaard, DDS
Dr. Jill Balgaard grew up in Ashby, MN. She attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth where she studied Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Balgaard then pursued her doctorate at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she graduated with distinction in 2015. In 2017 she became Invisalign certified.
After graduating, Dr. Balgaard and her husband Shawn fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming residents of the Big Sky state. She landed in Miles City, Montana where she focused on expanding her skills, practicing progressive techniques, and utilizing advanced dental technology. Dr. Balgaard placed special emphasis on providing endodontic “root canal” care to her patients by successfully treating nearly 150 infected teeth within her first year.
As a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the West Central District Dental Society, Dr. Balgaard is active in the pursuit of advancing dental care via a fellowship of dental professionals. She has also completed post-graduate coursework focused on offering prosthetic options utilizing digital technology. Dr. Balgaard occupies her time away from the office with a variety of interests. She and Shawn are scuba divers and thoroughly enjoy the traveling opportunities the hobby provides. She is also an avid outdoorswoman, and is excited to return to Montana for the archery elk-hunting season. Dr. Balgaard enjoys sports and staying active outside through hiking, waterskiing, and snowboarding. She loves attempting to keep pace on runs with Tango, their Australian Shepherd.
Dr. Balgaard is especially thrilled to be returning home to the lakes area as a part of the LifeSmiles Dental team. She feels incredibly fortunate to be able to improve the lives of others through dentistry. “I am passionate about establishing a trusting and personal relationship with each of my patients. I truly believe that a smile can be one’s best physical feature, and it’s my goal to keep yours healthy and vibrant!”
